We had an owl’fully good time creating owls today! The morning Storybook Masterpieces class learned about the process/artist Eric Carle-author/illustrator. He paints tissue paper with paint layers ahead of time and then cuts & collages his wonderful illustrations together. We tried this with owls and the results were fantastic.
My new 4,5 yr old afternoon class-Creature Art, also created owls. We learned a little bit about Picasso and his love of owls but mostly we painted, stamped, pounced, collaged and drew our little hearts out. Really great results for this age group. Even my son produced a darling little piece- so miracles can happen! ( he hasn’t shown a huge interest in art but he’s in the class to have a little taste=)
